Submerge

May 27, 2008 at 1:57 am (Uncategorized)

There is no way to describe what happened on sunday morning. We launched the “Submerge” series by doing a spontaneous baptism. How unbelievable it was to see people stand up and publicly show how God has changed their lives. Attendance was awesome and we got to see 17 people be baptized. The baptisms took place outside and we shot live video feed into the auditorium. The production team did an incredible job. It’s mornings like this that you are reminded how amazing our volunteers are. We could not have pulled off this event without them.

Set List:

  • All Because Of Jesus- Fee
  • Break Free- Hillsong United
  • To Know Your Name- Hillsong
  • God Of This City/Our God Reigns- Tomlin

FOR SALE!

May 24, 2008 at 8:44 pm (Uncategorized)

That’s right, our house is officially on the market. We cut the grass, cleaned the house, put the sign in the yard, then jumped in the pool. Emily and I have felt God’s calling to move to Acworth since that is the city we are so passionately trying to impact. Yes, the market is awful right now and most people say you can’t sell. There is not a doubt in our mind that our house is going to sell. It’s going to be one of those things that can only be explained by God because we know we’re doing what God called us to do. We want to sell in record time…..tomorrow would be nice. If you know anyone who wants to buy a house in Cartersville then send them our way.

Tech. Support

May 22, 2008 at 9:44 pm (Uncategorized)

The sound is something that can add or ruin a worship experience. With that being said, it is imperative to have someone who is skilled running the sound board. God has blessed Freedom with multiple people who are gifted at running sound. Even though we have great sound guys, we just brought in a sound consultant to help us take it to the next level. Eric Baker is one of the lead tech. and sound guys at Westridge Church. He also owns his own consulting business and we brought him in last sunday to work with our board and sound engineers. Not only is Eric very trained and skilled in sound, but he has a passion for the church and worship which made him awesome to work with. If you are ever in need of anything technical I would suggest Eric: 404-798-0852, eric@edbconsulting.net

Set List

We opened the service by teaching the church “Break Free.” That is a rockin’, high energy song that was a ton of fun to play and seemed to really connect with the church. Tyler did an awesome job leading that one. JR’s message came from one of the most popular scriptures: John 3:16. As he always does, JR presented in such a way that I had never heard it and God moved in awesome ways. I am continually amazed at how God is moving in the lives of the people at Freedom. A bunch of people accepted Christ. I can’t wait to blog about what’s going to happen this coming sunday.

Set List 5/18:

  • Break Free- Hillsong United
  • Desperate Pursuit- FreedomLive
  • Mighty To Save- Hillsong
  • Jesus, Paid It All- Kristian Stanfill version
  • Your Grace Is Enough- Chris Tomlin

Wedding Season

May 16, 2008 at 3:55 am (Uncategorized)

May is the month of weddings. I will be excited when May is over cause every single weekend in the month of May I am either in a wedding and/or singing in a wedding. Two weekends ago I got back from one of my bests friends weddings in Ohio and tomorrow I’m leaving to go to Greensboro for another one of my best friend’s weddings. The weekend after this one I get to sing some Keith Urban in a  wedding. Love is in the air for a lot of people this month, but for me…..I’m just broke from having to buy so many freaking tuxes.

Mother’s Day

May 12, 2008 at 2:46 pm (Uncategorized)

Mother’s day was a great day at Freedom Church. Everything went great, the mother’s were honored, and God was evidently moving. In honor of Mother’s Day I have to say that God blessed me with the greatest mother there could ever be. My mom has always sacrificed everything to help me succeed and to see my dreams become a reality. She has always inspired me and supported me no matter how big or small something is. The best way to summarize my mom is to say that she lives the life that God intended a Godly mother to live. I just wanted to write this post to honor her and to be a gift to her. Thanks mom, you are amazing.

Dad…….Don’t worry, Father’s Day is coming soon, haha.

Set List:

  • Broadcast- Fee
  • Sing, Sing, Sing- Tomlin
  • Let Me Sing- Todd Fields
  • From The Inside Out- Hillsong United

Excitement

May 11, 2008 at 12:45 am (Uncategorized)

This week it feels like sunday just can’t come fast enough. I am really pumped about tomorrow’s worship set. God has really been speaking into my life a lot this week about worship and I can’t wait to let it all out tomorrow with our Freedom people. He has been challenging me and stretching me as a worshipper and worship leader and I am anxious to have energy-filled, passionate worship seeking God’s face. I feel so hungry for God that no matter how much I get of His presence, I just want all that much more. I love knowing that tomorrow morning we get one more chance as a city to come together and lift high the name of Jesus Christ.

Stress Reliever

May 6, 2008 at 6:03 pm (Uncategorized)

God put my mind at peace this morning by showing me another awesome truth in scripture. This week has been one of those crazy weeks where satan has tried everything to try and attack. I was tired from getting no sleep this weekend, have a sinus infection, and then all the questions and worries that go through my mind as a worship leader: Do I really deserve to be doing this? Am I doing a good enough job? How can I be a better worship leader? What do we need to do differently? How can I help our church go to the next level? All these questions that satan tries to throw at me to get me stressed and in one sentence God put all of that to rest.

“Seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

How interesting that this scripture is found in Matthew where Jesus is addressing the issue of worry. This is an amazing scripture that should relieve stress for all of us. Jesus doesn’t give us a list of things we have to do to measure up. He simply tells us to seek Him and to worship Him and He will take care of ALL the other things. God spoke to me and was telling me that if I worship Him with all that I am He will build up our worship ministry and grow our church. He will take us to the next level and it will come through us seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness. Amen!
