We’re getting up at the crack of dawn to head down to florida for a cruise. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. One of the things I love about cruises is the fact that you can’t get cell service even if you want to and you can’t use internet unless you want to spend stupid amounts of money. This vacation is hitting at a perfect time because when we get back things are going to get real crazy around the Freedom offices. There’s some unbelievable things on the horizon and I can’t wait to see how God is going to move.

• We went to the doctor again today for another baby check-up. It all becomes an amazing reality when we hear the baby’s heart beat. I’m excited that we get to find out the gender next month.
• Had an awesome date with my wife tonight and watched “Christmas Vacation” for the 2nd time already this holiday season. Anything with Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, or John Candy is a classic comedy great.
• Heading down to Griffin tomorrow to meet with our producer and recording engineer for the Freedom LIve album. I’ve been writing songs like crazy getting ready. Can’t wait!
• Sunday is going to be a great day at Freedom! We’re kicking off a new series called “Blessed.”
• Monday morning we are leaving for our cruise. I am going to eat like crazy, enjoy warm weather, read a lot, spend time with my amazing wife, and then top it all off by saying hey to Mickey at Disney World next weekend.

This morning as I was walking out of my house to go to work I noticed some of my other neighbors getting ready to go to work. Some wear suits and carry briefcases and other are wearing their company uniforms. Here I am in jeans, converse shoes, and a hoody carrying a guitar to work instead of a briefcase. I was immediately reminded how blessed I am to make a living doing the thing that I love the most. It’s getting me excited about our next series, which is actually entitled “Blessed.” It all begins this sunday.

Got my new (but used) car yesterday. It felt really good to have that wad of cash and drive away with no car payment.  

We had an incredible weekend with our DebtFreeAcworth.com event. Joe Sangl led both the saturday event and spoke on sunday morning at Freedom. I would encourage you to check out his site and utilize the resources that he has made available. Most financial gurus would charge you for the budgeting tools that he has on his site for free. They are easy to use and will allow you to take control over your finances.

It was a fun day at Freedom on sunday. We launched our debtfreeacworth.com series with style. Pastor brought God’s word on handling money and he didn’t hold anything back. It was awesome. To end the message I had the honor of being interviewed along with my wife Emily. We were able to tell our debt free story from the stage. To top off the whole service we got to cut up our debt. Now, most churches would bring out the scissors to cut up their credit cards, but I got to chop up my debt with a chainsaw. It’s the Freedom way.
