Rebel: Week 6

July 26, 2009 at 8:11 pm (Uncategorized)

Wrapped up the Rebel series this morning with some incredible worship. Pastor JR talked about the issue of pride. A great quote from the message was this: “When pride walks on the stage, God walks off.” We cannot share the stage with Jesus. At Freedom Church the stage is His! We are simply there to lead others in lifting up His name and pointing everything to His glory. I fully believe this series has set our people’s hearts on fire for worship. Each week we become even more undignified. I cannot express how excited I am about taking what we learned in the Rebel series into the upcoming series. It’s gonna be unreal!

Undignified Worship

July 13, 2009 at 3:53 pm (Uncategorized)

On sunday I had the honor of speaking to our people about worship. God moved like I cannot explain and the whole morning ended up being one of the greatest worship experiences I have ever been a part of. You could see the Holy Spirit tearing down the walls in peoples hearts and they were finally liberated to worship freely! My prayer is that sunday will be a turning point for the worship in each heart at Freedom Church.

Worship is our response to the greatness of God! If the greatness of God is that He gave everything for us, then our response should be with everything to shout for His glory! That is what we did on sunday. With everything we had, we worshipped undignified. We worshipped LOUD and unashamed because God has given us new life and we are unapologetic in celebrating the glory of God in our lives. David lead 30,000 men in restoring the glory of God to his city. As the Worship Pastor of Freedom Church it is my desire to lead a group of undignified worshippers in restoring the glory of God to the city of Acworth!

Worship Set 7.12:

  • Your Name High- Hillsong
  • Shout Your Name- Freedom Live
  • Bring You Praise- Freedom Live
  • Tear Down The Walls- Hillsong United
  • From The Inside Out- Hillsong United
  • Be Lifted High- Hillsong United
  • Glory To God- Fee
  • With Everything- Hillsong

Through The Fire

July 2, 2009 at 8:07 am (Uncategorized)

Right now there are people who are broken and hurting all around us. I continue to see more and more hurting the more I’m in ministry. People who are jobless, marriages that are broken, sickness, etc. In Pastor JR’s message last sunday he talked about the fact that you are either in the fire, coming out of the fire, or about to go into the fire. Earlier this week and last week I felt like I was in the fire. Right now I feel like I’m on my way out and I want to share the peace that God taught me through it. Here are two quotes from Pastor JR’s recent messages that were hope and truth for me during the fire:

  1. “Sometimes God delivers you through the fire not from the fire.”
  2. “Everything God blessed, he first broke.”

Think about that last quote. Jesus broke the bread at the feeding of the 5000 and held it up for God to bless. God taught me that a lot of times my brokenness is because He is getting ready to pour out His blessing. I gave you two quotes so now I have to give you a song. This morning as I was spending personal time worshipping God and these lyrics spoke hope into my life. Here’s a portion of the song:

Verse 2:

Faithfulness none can deny

Through the storm and through the fire

There is truth that sets me free

Jesus Christ who lives in me

Chorus:

You are stronger, You are stronger

Sin is broken, You have saved me

It is written, Christ is risen

Jesus You are Lord of all
